ABOUT US
We grew up in Santa Maria, CA and there was a Candy Cane Lane there, just off Miller Street, that everyone had to visit every year.  It just wasn't Christmas unless everyone's parents drove throught that neighborhood!  Those people took their time to try and make Christmas something special for their families as well as everyone else in town. They inspired us and though most of those folks are gone now, I sincerely hope that God blesses them for their selfless gift of their time and electric bill to brighten our holiday. It is our wish to share that magic with our family, our neighbors and anyone else who has the opportunity to drive by.  In the past, our son did the front yard with the help of his best friend, but now it is just my husband and I. My husband was the daredevil who climbed on the roof, mumbling I'm getting too old for this.....  We don't know what is more fun, decorating or enjoying it once the sun goes down. Thank you for driving by to enjoy, and to the wonderful lady who thanked me profusely for having decorated the house, thank you.  I was so humbled by your words and you touched my heart.  We wish for you and your family the feeling of Christmas in your hearts always.

I do the ministry of the sick for my church and would like to ask anyone who can find time to make a new friend, stop into a convalescent home and share the holiday season all year by making a difference in the lives of lonely elderly.  Just taking a few minutes on your way to/from work and talk with your new friend will help you feel good too.  You don't have to take a lot of time, just an hour here or there helps a person feel like they matter and someone cares.  For more information, you can contact All Saints Catholic Church at 510-581-2570.

Christmas is an amazing time of the year.  It's a time to celebrate our Saviour's birth, three wise men (who did ask directions), a scared young girl, a confused young man, and a miracle.  We get so caught up in our zeal for deciding what to get and for who, the actual shopping, cooking, and decorating our homes that we forget what happened all those years ago.  We hope you and your family take time this year and every year to remember the humble simple beginnings of a miracle and how it affected us with eternal life.

May God Bless you all, bring happiness and good health to everyone.
